The FH of the BFI Vienna is considered the leading business university in Vienna. It offers 10 Bachelor's and 7 Master's degree programmes at the interface of business, digitalization and sustainability with the aim of training the responsible managers of tomorrow.
Examples from the curricula:
- BA degree course in European Business and Corporate Management: as part of the Business Development and Social Entrepreneurship specializations, there is a special focus on the prerequisites for successful start-ups on the one hand and an in-depth look at the importance of socially sustainable companies in the social and entrepreneurial environment on the other.
- MA course in Logistics and Strategic Management: The "Business Modeling" course, which is taught by Storebox founder and CEO Johannes Braith, teaches students how to develop new business models and everything to do with the founding and business development of start-ups.
- MA course in Project Management and Organization: as part of the Start-up elective module, students interested in founding a company are taught key aspects of founding a company and the associated legal issues as well as innovation management.
Start-up modules are also offered in the Project Management and Organization, Interactive Media and Games Business and Film, TV and Media Production degree programmes.
A highlight of the academic year is the "FH Gründer:innen Nacht" (FH Founders' Night), which takes place annually in spring, where founders from a wide range of fields talk about "their" start-up story and reveal one or two secrets for a successful start-up.The "Innovation Lab" specialization raises students' awareness of the importance of innovation in companies. Students learn how to design working environments that promote innovation. They listen to guest lectures from start-ups, among others, and find new solutions for real HR challenges from cooperating partner companies, which always include a start-up.
