Name:
Markus Hörmanseder
Project:

Founding date - How long have you been working on your idea?
June 2019
Founding triggers: How did you come up with the idea?
In the course of our studies at the FH Campus Wien.
Founding moment: How did you know that you wanted to realize your idea?
When we told our head of degree program about our idea at the very beginning. She was on fire for Liberty right from the start, which was extremely motivating.
Elevator pitch of your project:
The basic idea of Liberty can best be described as a new perspective in the construction industry. Creating living space without sealing ground surfaces, with natural building envelopes and taking into account the high demands for mobility and flexibility. These are some of our main focuses. In short, we want to combine original building principles with new incentives from the 21st century. All with scientific support and social added value.
Elevator pitch about yourself:
Together we are structured and chaotic at the same time. We work with our dream team on the realization of Liberty. Always fully committed and very ambitious.
How many of you are in the founding team and how did you come together?
Originally there were 2 of us, Philipp and I have known each other since our HTL days. We had the idea for Liberty in our student flat share. Strategically, we then brought two experienced entrepreneurs on board and that's how the four of us officially founded Liberty.
University:
FH Campus Wien
How did your university support you when it came to founding and entrepreneurship?
Our FH has been behind us since day 1. Even when we still had a vague, theoretical approach, people believed in us and our idea. Since the pitch at the Start-up Corner at FH Campus Wien, things have progressed at a rapid pace for us. Without our FH and all the expertise, we would never have been able to put our idea into practice. The origin of Liberty is our FH and we are very proud of that.
Do's: What would you recommend to any founder, or what would you do again?
It is essential to found a company together with a partner. The conception and implementation of an idea requires interdisciplinary thinking and expertise in many areas. This is difficult to achieve alone. One thing is very important: the more diverse the founding team is, the more competencies can be covered.
Don`ts: What would you do differently? What was your biggest learning?
Demonstrate maximum adaptability right from the start. Never abandon the basic idea, but otherwise be flexible on the way to implementation. It's rare that you have the roadmap for practical implementation already broken down at the very beginning.
How to start? - What would you recommend to anyone interested in starting a business?
Get into action quickly. Move quickly from theory to practice so that the idea can be tested. It will need a few optimization loops, so I think it's good if you can make mistakes quickly and thus continuously improve your concept.
