SOLANGE
Founding date - How long have you been working on your idea?
2017
Founding trigger: How did you get the idea?
Question: Have we already reached the peak of emancipation? How long have you been a feminist?
Founding moment: How did you know that you wanted to realize your idea?
Lack of equal rights.
Elevator pitch of your project:
SOLANGE is an internationally scalable art project that combines aesthetics with functionality and conveys a visionary message. We wrap important buildings in highly frequented locations with feminist slogans for SO LONG until we have reached eye level in the dialog. The artistic tension arises from the dynamic between traditionally female-connoted craftsmanship and male-dominated building sites. A sentence that begins with "Solange" and ends with "bin ich Feminist:in" is applied to dust protection nets with pink tulle in cross-stitch and mounted on scaffolding.
Elevator pitch about yourself:
In my work, I pursue a consistent political agenda that focuses on aspects such as feminism, social justice, communality and questions about aesthetic processes and the role of art itself. My works take different forms in this exploration of emancipative and social perspectives: Interventions in public space, works with film, photography, texts or sound, with actions and performances.
